If you haven’t been to Madrid in the last few years, you might have not seen the four new buildings in the north of the city… Otherwise, it is impossible you haven’t done so.
They are the tallest buildings in the city and are in the more elevated area of Madrid, which makes them visible from all over the region, as they are clearly distinguished even when you are 40 or 50 km away. (this picture is from my colleague Jose Carlos… amazing).
As usual, they are involved in a lot of controversy, as not everybody likes this new glass arquitecture. I personally like them quite a lot. I think they give Madrid a new modern icon, which it lacked before, and empowers a modern area, where also a new futuristic congress centre is going to be built in the coming years.

2. m. Parte puntiaguda que sobresale en la superficie o en el borde o límite de alguna cosa.
It is a shame that I had not been before to the beautiful city of Segovia. It is really near from Madrid (you can make it in just a day trip), and has many nice spots… Apart, of course, from its wonderful cochinillo.
The roman aqueduct is just spectacular. It has around 2000 years, and it is still “up” (not running, though). You cannot imagine anything built today which is able to last that long time… but the romans made it 18 centuries ago… Impressive that it has survived till our days.
The alcázar is also nice to visit. It is said that Walt Disney got inspired by this alcázar when designing “his castle”. It is quite similar, but I think Neuschwanstein in the south of Germany was the real source of inspiration.
And, of course, as almost any city in Spain, it has lots of churches, and has one of the biggest cathedrals of the country.

… y todavía sigo preguntándome cuál es el objetivo del vídeo. Parece que no soy el único, porque todos con los que he hablado sobre el tema están un poco extrañados, e incluso alguno se ha atrevido a preguntarlo en el grupo de Facebook que han creado para esta ¿iniciativa?

En cualquier caso, esto fomenta más aún la imagen chovinista de Alcoy. Como dice una de las señoras del vídeo, en Alcoy somos más chovinistas que los franceses, y eso que ellos se inventaron el término ¹. Todo el vídeo diciendo lo especiales que somos los alcoyanos seguro que a más de uno os llama la atención… O no, estáis acostumbrados.
¹ Por si alguno no lo sabe/no se acordaba, aquí está el origen del término “chovinismo”, directito de la Wikipedia:
