Dunnottar Castle

The great thing about Scotland is the huge amount of castles in all its land. The remains of Dunnottar Castle is between Aberdeen and Saint Andrews (near a place called Stonehaven), and it is situated on a rocky headland on the coast. We got there when the sun was setting and it was a bit scary…

Saint Andrews

Saint Andrews is a town around 70 km away from Edimburgh in the eastern coast of Scotland, which is very famous because golf was born here. That was the main thing all travel guides talked about, but there is a lot more than just golf. It got its name from Scotland’s patron saint, and lying on the seaside has a couple of interesting medieval remains, its cathedral and its castle. A perfect stopover on our way to the north. 🙂

Edimburgh

After the Borders, we stopped for two days in Edimburgh, the capital of Scotland. Nice city, plenty of medieval buildings and streets governed by a well-preserved castle on top of a hill, and hosting the world’s most famous sheep: Dolly. 😀 A nice city, especially if you don’t get rain…

Victoria Street

One nice thing you can find all around Edimburgh are the closes, small corridors communicating streets at different levels and the courtyards you can easily get lost in… some for worse, some for better. 😉

Heading to Lisbon

If everything goes fine, I should be boarding an Easyjet flight to Lisbon for a couple of days. A few days off to say definitely goodbye to the summer, as it is getting quickly colder in Madrid.

Furthermore, I have never been to Portugal and I am really looking forward to this trip. Time to enjoy nice company, to see new things, take some pictures, and to read and learn about a unknown neighbor country…

See you in a few days…
